Create or Die

Create or Die!

I’ve been in major creating mode since before Thanksgiving.  Part of my recent activity has to do with gift giving.  Most of my gifts this year will be handmade by me or someone else.  I actually had some people make requests for handmade items this year.  Someone even said to me, “Don’t give me anything unless it’s really personal like something you made yourself”.  This seems like an unusual trend.  Not that I don’t like it!  I love it!  I think it’s great that people are demanding very personal gifts.  I think some people in my life are having electronic overload.

After a night of very little, it felt like none, sleep, I decided to take a break this morning.  I have some fabric lined up for sewing gifts.  I’m done crocheting for the year (I think).  I have various jewelry findings, buttons, game pieces and other items laid out and ready to go.  I have some ideas drawn out.  I’ve saved some reference photos for painting later.  I’ll go for a long walk, then go upstairs and start working on some sewing for later this evening.  Maybe I’ll even go to bed early.

Tomorrow I’ll begin again.  I have quite a few projects yet to finish and too many ideas waiting in the wings.

I have to say a special thanks to Cindy, cindyiscrafty, for sending me some dominoes and dice.  The dominoes make nice tinkling sounds when they hit against one another.  Four of the dice are resin and one is wood.  I think I may have to set up my drill press and vise to do some drilling.  I have a few ideas already.

Plum, I can’t wait to see all your wonderful creations! Of course, I’m especially interested in your sewing projects. ;)

I’ve been sewing a lot, too, and need to get back into the sewing room this morning so I will, hopefully, make more progress on a quilt I’m making.

Isn’t it wonderful when people appreciate your talents and creativity and actually want hand made gifts? :D

  4. It may be a little while before I show my sewing stuff. I was sidetracked yesterday. I had an “AHA” moment yesterday. I just had to finish something that’s been bugging me for months.
