Every year we make Christmas gifts for the teachers. This year we had an exceptionally long list of teachers. My children had 4 to 5 teachers each. I’m finally finished. YAY! I thought I would share.
Christmas time is a great time to say “thank you” to all my children’s wonderful teachers. I wanted to make them something special, so I sent my kids off to school to ask the teachers 4 questions. What is their favorite color? What is their hobby? What kinds of things do they collect? And What is their favorite sport. Here is some of the presents I made this year.
For the shell collector who likes blue: an altered Rummikub® game piece pendant with a copy of a vintage image of a shell.
For the teacher who showed amazing patience with my children: an altered domino pendant with a vintage image of an owl.
For the teacher who loves to garden: an altered Rummikub® game piece pendant with a copy of a vintage image of a woman watering roses.
For the music teacher: two different Rummikub® game piece pendants with copies of vintage images of the front cover of sheet music.
For the teacher who collects rocks, an altered domino key chain/pull with a copy of a vintage image that I digitally altered.
For the teacher that loves to golf: a domino keychain with a copy of a vintage image of a golfer.
For the principal who collects art from different countries: an altered Rummikub® keychain/pull with a copy of a vintage image of artwork.
I put all of the pendants on cord or ribbon necklaces.

Here’s instructions for altering dominoes, http://www.unique-re-tiques.com/altereddomino.html. It works for game pieces as well.
