A very long time ago I bought some wonderful vintage jade green cabochons. I can’t even remember what I planned to do with them anymore. I obviously was distracted and ended up just storing them.I have a very large collection of vintage metal buttons. Many of them are ornate and would work perfectly just by themselves. I also had quite a few not so ornate ones. When I picked up the cabochons one day, I decided to find some appropriate setting for them. I had just finished a gold colored bracelet with ornate gold buttons, so I had my metal buttons out. AHA! I put the gold buttons with the jade green cabochons …Viola! a beautiful necklace appeared.

Plum, no one would ever guess that the necklace is made out of buttons from looking at the front of it! Until I saw the picture of the back of the necklace here, I was beginning to doubt that you used buttons.
