Finished Bird’s Nest Complete with Eggs and Fabric Bird
February 13, 2008
After all the work on my bird nest, I decided to make another for the swap. I kind of like my bird’s nest in it’s primitive state. My painted osnaburg bird doesn’t exactly look like a crow, maybe more like a blackbird, with the green eyes and yellow beak. I like her anyway.
You can see her brown speckled polymer clay eggs tucked inside the handmade nest.
She reminds me of a character in a children’s story, especially from the front (above).
I’ll put her away for now and decide if I want to place her in a case. I’m almost done with my nest for the swap. I made another fabric bird of a different sort. That nest is in the same finished state as my crow’s nest. I’ve put them both on the counter while I decide whether to put them into a habitat.

Awesome nest and birdie, Sue! I especially like the birdie with the green eyes and all. Way too cool!

Thank you.
I’m fussing over my swap nest. I don’t want to show it yet. I want it to be a surprise for my swap partner.
