Summer Citrus: New Button Bracelet Celebrating Summer

 

I’ve had a set of buttons and beads lying on the table for some time now.  I really wanted to create a bracelet that captured “citrus”.  I love the warm colors all combined with a touch of green.  The bracelet just didn’t seem to be falling together like I would like.

 

Then as I was doing one of my Blossom Girl’s necklace, Ginger Spice, I pulled out a set of yellow flower beads along with the orange ones I used on that necklace.  I decided to glue silver beadcaps onto them.  The addition of the glass floral beads really helped me pull the design together.

 

Originally I thought I was going to add big round green Lucite beads to the bracelet.  The yellow blossoms led me in a different direction.  I decided to add some green glass leaves instead.  I added two leaves for every flower. 

I named the bracelet Summer citrus.  It has the warm colors of summer with just a touch of slightly cool green…like the leaves on a tree that provide shade to the grass on a warm summer day.
