My Creative Spirit Has Gone to the Dogs…and Cats…and…
August 15, 2008
I bought two sets of toggle clasps with charms. I wanted to make full bracelets, so I used a whole package per bracelet. The result is that I ended up with 2 adjustable length charm bracelets.
The bracelet above is kitty cats and fish with buttons and little beads. I decided to add orange and cream colored buttons. I was thinking of orange tiger striped kitties. Even though the kitty clasps don’t have eyes, I added the blue beads to represent blue eyes.
This bracelet is dogs and bones with some vintage(?) beads. The charms looked like Dalmations to me, so I went with a black and white color combination. I added a little red because my dogs have reddish mouths.
I did this one just for the fun of it. The sea horses were part of a box of beads I found at a garage sale. I thought they were cute. The light and medium blue discs I found at an estate sale. The discs reminded me of water. I thought they were a perfect combination of sea horse and ocean water. I decided my bracelet needed a bit more color and more variations in height. I dug out a variety of orange beads from my collection. The glass orange beads are new and the other orange beads I acquired at other sales.
I spent the morning yesterday washing and trimming our dogs and cleaning up after cats. I guess they had me thinking about animals. I guess I just have to go where my creative spirit leads me.
