Public Domain Images of Bird Heads and Feet
November 21, 2008
Today must be Freebie Thursday. While I’m trying to get some soldering done for the craft fair on Saturday. I thought I would share some images from one of my favorite vintage books, Sea Side And Way Side by Julia McNair Wright. The book was published in 1901; therefore it should be in the public domain and copyright free. This time around I thought I would share some full pages from the book.
The pages are from the chapter titled “Beaks and Claws”. The black and white illustration above shows the head and beak of a parrot, hummingbird, duck and chicken. I don’t know what kind of bird is in the upper right of the image.
The second page is some bird feet. You probably recognize the webbed duck feet. The claws of the other two birds are not so recognizable.
The b&w images have been uploaded at 300 dpi. You can click on the images to take you to flickr where you may download the images in small to large sizes.
If you are in the Portland/Hillsboro, Oregon area and would like to do some early Christmas shopping, my daughter’s elementary school is holding a fund raising holiday bazaar. The bazaar is 9am to 4pm on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Witch Hazel Elementary School. The address is 4950 SE Davis Road Hillsboro, Oregon 97123. The bazaar is a fund raising project for the 6th grade outdoor school.

Thanks Sharon and Michelle!
The school is making money by selling booth space. All the booths donate products for a raffle. As part of the fund raising they’re also selling pop and tamales. It says they also have a carnaval, but I don’t know anything more about it.
