Festive Charm Bracelet…I Caved and Bought Must-Have Beads
December 3, 2008

I had been eyeing the colorful glass beads for months. I swore to myself I wouldn’t buy anymore beads until I had used up the ones I already had. When my daughter insisted on finishing up her Christmas shopping, the temptation was too much. I caved and bought the beads.

I immediately had to make a charm bracelet out of the beads. I thought they were so festive looking. They remind me of glass Christmas bulbs and New Year Eve. I paired them with large prism cut crystal beads that I had bought for ornaments. I used up a variety of bead caps and silver metal beads that I had leftover from other projects. I even used a few earring backs. I used a Swarovski crystal toggle clasp that I had bought a while ago.
For this bracelet I decided to mount the charms on split rings to insure that they wouldn’t slip off the bracelet.

I have a difficult time capturing all the sparkle in this bracelet. I tried several different backgrounds. One of these days I’ll figure out how to capture the movement and light of pieces like this charm bracelet.
I really like this bracelet. I’m very happy happy I bought the beads. They were definitely a must-have. I have this bracelet for sale in my etsy store. Here’s the listing.

It’s just beautiful! I love beads, and I love bracelets! All the pretty colors dangling from your wrist is way fun! But I love all your bracelets

Really pretty Sue. I have some of those glass beads and think they are lovely. I like that they are a bit irradescent(sp?), too.

Thank you Kudzu and Cindy.
The crystal beads are irridescent. The colored glass beads have a metallic finish.

Ooohhh…I’ve seen beads like that at my local store. I’ve been a good girl and not stepping into the craft stores in the past 3 weeks.
