Sunday We Made Snowmen and A Cool Gift Benefiting AIDS
December 5, 2008
On the last Sunday of every month I get together with friends to do art. Usually we do our own thing. This past Sunday, Marci, brought a bunch of stuff so that we could make snowmen using the instructions from November/December 2008, Cloth Paper Scissors Magazine, Pg 44, Make sparkling Snowmen in a snap.
Thanks so much to Marci for bringing the bottles, clay, beads, charms and the rest of the googah for our wonderful holiday snow people.
Above is a photo of all of our snowmen lined up. The first two are from Denise, the next one is Diane’s, then Marci’s, then the two of mine, then Melissa’s and finally Michelle’s. Everyone’s little altered snowmen turned out wonderful.
Normally I don’t talk about buying commercial gifts, but I found a great gift idea when I was reading More magazine, December 2008/ January 2009 issue. Aldo Shoes is selling metal cuffs/bracelets with art created by kids from Rwanda. The cuffs are only $5. I just ordered a couple. I haven’t seen them in person yet, but they look beautiful in the photo. Here’s a link, http://www.youthaids-aldo.org/

Yes, it was fun.
I think that’s the best bargain I’ve seen for a gift that benefits a worthy cause.

I saw this post via google alert on our latest issue of Cloth Paper Scissors. Can I post your finished images on our Quilting Arts/Cloth Paper Scissors blog, and link to your post?
