It’s Snowing on My Open Studio Day! It’s Pretty, But…
December 15, 2008

I woke up this morning and looked out the window just as the snow began to fall. Today is my open studio party with friends from the WCCMA group. I know some of them won’t be able to make it. Normally I would think I must have some bad karma, but the snow is so pretty, my house is clean and there is plenty of food in the fridge. If none or not many people show up, I will sit by the fire, sip some hot chocolate and crochet a few hat.
I decided to take a few photos. The Rebel’s battery wasn’t charged, so I just took my Cannon Powershot G3 outside to get a few images to share.

It rarely snows around here. When it does snow, it doesn’t stick around for long. Snow is actually a real treat for us.

We like it. I’m not sure the birds like it as well. If you look closely you can see a little Towhee on the branch near the suet feeder.

The Junco and Chickadee were enjoying the suet we had put out for them.

The nursery stock out front look beautiful. I didn’t photograph all the trees, but the variety is nice. I’ll have to take more photos when the battery for the Rebel charges.

We have a variety of beautiful tall evergreens that are looking pretty sharp all dressed up in snow.

Even our kiwi trellis is looking pretty snazzy.

The wild Hawthorne bush looks much more at home in the snow as well.

The white stuff shortens our view. The fence-line looks kind of pretty though.
It’s close to Christmas. It’s snowing. I can have another Open Studio Party. I don’t have anywhere I need to be, but here. I might as well enjoy the day! I think I’ll chose to be happy about it.
Cheers!

Oh, WOW. That is so beautiful, and you’re so lucky! I’m down south in Florida, where it hasn’t snowed since ‘91, so this sort of scenery just amazes me. The trees are so gorgeous! Thanks for sharing these. Wow wow wow!

Those are beautiful pics. I love the snow, but don’t get any here in northwest Florida. Thanks for making my day.
