“Page From A Book of Hours, Fifteenth Century”
This week I decided to scan in some copyright free color images from the book, History of Europe Ancient and Medieval by James Henry Breasted and James Harvey Robinson, Copyright 1920 by Ginn and Company. The illustration above is between pages 480 and 481.
Onto Greece…

A Corner of the Parthenon
by B.G. Teubner
The image of this painting is between pages 144 and 145. Now we’re off to Egypt.
Restoration of the Great Pyramids and Other Tomb Monuments In the Ancient Cemetery of Gizeh, Egypt (after Hoelscher)
The image of this drawing is on the first page of the book.

The page containing the drawing of the pyramid in my book is ripped. I decided to do some repairs using Adobe® Photoshop®. You can see that the image can be easily repaired digitally.
The 300 dpi images are vintage and should be in the public domain. All of the images have been uploaded to my flickr page. I have attributed them to Creative Commons so you may download them.

I have a book, A Medieval Miscellany, with loads of pictures, some like yours. I’m sure a lot of those pictures are in the public domain, but the book itself is not. But I do enjoy thumbing through it.
