July 17, 2009

For this Illustration Friday, I decided to download some images from the vintage public domain book, From the Book “Ways of Wood Folk” By William J. Long, Copyright 1899, Ginn & Company Publishers, The Athenaeum Press, 1902.
The image above is from Page 67. It an illustration for the story, “A Wild Duck”.
The image above is on page 74. It’s a black and white drawing illustrating the story “An Oriole’s Nest.”
This image appears between pages 118 and 119. It is from the story, “One Touch of Nature”. It’s a drawing of a family of Quail.
This drawing of a chickadee on a hand is from page 135. The illustration is at the beginning of the story, “Ch’GeeGee-Lokh-Sis” (the name the Northern Native Americans gave to the chickadee).
The images above are from a pre-1923 book that should be in the public domain. The images from the book should be copyright free. I have uploaded the 300 dpi images to my flickr account and attributed them to Creative Commons. To download the images, click on them. This will take you to the image in my flickr account where you may chose a size of file to download.
